This one time ... at band camp ...

No, but really, the other night I was walking down the street with a few girls that are in my study abroad program. A homeless man was walking towards us and asked "Avez-vous des petites pièces?" (Do you have any change to spare? - although I'm pretty sure you knew what he was going to ask the second you read "homeless man"). And one of the girls replied "Non". As the guy walked past us he muttered "Pute". Yes ladies and gentlemen, if you deny a homeless man change in Paris, he will call you a whore.

Lesson learned.

PS. It is normal here to just ignore them and not answer at all - which is probably why he called her that. Oh well, it was funny.

I'm here!

Okay, so I got here Thursday. Long flight, not much else to it. Stayed in a nice hotel the first 2 nights, now I'm in a foyer. Which is like a hostel, but nicer since it's usually for long stays. I'm doing the whole housing search - not a lot of fun. I hope I find something soon ... like yesterday kind of soon!

The other half

Other than that, there is not too much going on. I have taken at least 1 picture everyday, so as soon as I find a good way to upload them (and am unpacked) I will do so ... just because I think it will be a cool way to keep memories :)

T minus 1(ish)

So I leave in just a little over 24 hours. The last few days have been filled with packing, moving and seeing friends. I know I wont get to see everyone before I leave, so I'm sorry if you are one of the ones that fall into that category. It's nothing personal! (Well, probably ... lol)

I am going into this with no housing set up and no temporary hotel/hostel booked at this point in time. I am going to try to contact my landlord from my first stay in Paris and see if she has any rooms that may fit what I need. It wasn't my first choice, but beggars can't be choosers. I guess we'll see how that goes, but apparently tomorrow needs to be a VERY productive day!!

I am going to finish packing since I have no idea how I am going to fit my life for the next 10ish months into 2 suitcases and a carry-on. I promise to update on a regular basis once I'm in France - even if it mostly consists of pictures! :)

Adios Cali. Next stop: Paris.

Peace
